Restoration
of damaged teeth
To avoid subsequent damage, holes in the tooth enamel must be treated with fillings or an inlay. The fillings and inlays seal the tooth enamel very tightly after it has been cleaned by the dentist. The aim of modern dentistry is to achieve an almost invisible, tooth-colored filling of the tooth defect and to ensure a long-lasting chewing function.
Plastic fillings are filled into the cavity in the tooth before hardening. This can be done directly in practice. Inlays, on the other hand, are solid components that are completed by a dental technician in a dental laboratory.
They are made as a fitted piece based on an impression and bonded into the prepared tooth using adhesive technology (a state-of-the-art bonding technique) to achieve a very strong bond.
The inlay is a long-lasting and higher quality solution in contrast to fillings made of amalgam, cement or plastics. In our practice, we never use amalgam under any circumstances due to the high mercury content and the resulting health concerns. We are happy to advise you on the optimal material of your dental filling that suits you best.
